Jake fabricates a story about how he got injured, but soon Burton and Maureen uncover the truth. Meanwhile, Nick grapples with the decision of whether Luke should stay in foster care or return to live with his father after witnessing his mother in a compromising situation with a friend. In another development, Lulu prepares a trust fund for their child, suggesting that both she and Nick serve as trustees. Burton, on the other hand, is concerned about Jake, who was meant to assist with a case but seems to be distracted.
