The Heffernans are contemplating starting a family again, just four months after Carrie's miscarriage. However, there's a hitch: Arthur. With his last friend from the senior center gone, he spends his days napping. By the time Doug and Carrie return home, Arthur is bursting with energy and has no one but them to pester. Finding alone time becomes a challenge—until Doug decides to hire a charming dog walker. She takes Arthur out three times a week, pretending to be a student eager to hear his World War II stories, giving Doug and Carrie a much-needed break.
