Episode Overview
Doug decides to embrace the Halloween spirit by purchasing a pumpkin, but when Arthur sees it, he smashes it and declares Halloween off-limits. Annoyed by Arthur's attempt to control things, Doug goes all out with decorations, inadvertently frightening Arthur to the point where he nearly has a heart attack and ends up hospitalized. Upon learning about Arthur's difficult childhood and his aversion to Halloween, Doug feels remorseful and tries to make amends by searching the town for Arthur's favorite childhood snack. Meanwhile, Deacon struggles to find a superhero costume for his son Kirby, feeling frustrated by the lack of black superheroes. He eventually accepts Kirby’s choice to forgo a Darth Vader costume in favor of becoming a Power Puff Girl.
