Episode Overview

Doug and Carrie stumble upon an old wedding gift—a gravy boat—sent by Doug's distant cousin Ron and his wife Marcia. To their surprise, they discover a $1,500 check hidden inside that they had completely overlooked. Unfortunately, the check has expired since their wedding, so they decide to ask Ron and Marcia for a replacement. Feeling they should treat the couple to a few meals first, Carrie quickly loses her patience and opens the gravy boat, "noticing" the check. Their plan backfires when Doug mentions using the money for a trip to New Orleans, and Marcia insists they can't go without her and Ron. To avoid an awkward situation, Doug and Carrie plot to sneak away to New Orleans on their own. Meanwhile, Arthur is determined to get his comic strip published in Playboy, despite his questionable artistic skills.
