In celebration of Earth Day, the kids decide to rent a cocoa tree from the rainforest as a gift for Ms. Frizzle. However, when the time comes for the harvest, they find just a single shriveled cocoa bean! To investigate, Ms. Frizzle leads the class into the rainforest to meet the meticulous Inspector 47, who maintains a spotless, mud-free cocoa grove. The students wonder what impact his practices have had on the delicate balance of the rainforest's ecosystem.
