The Nile: Egypt's Great River with Bettany Hughes (2019)
S1E4 The Source
The historian arrives at the southernmost point of the Egyptian Nile, but her 900-mile adventure isn't finished yet. She teams up with archaeologists to unearth a massive stone message board from the base of the temple dedicated to the crocodile god Sobek. Bettany also stops by a hotel once visited by Churchill and bids goodbye to her boat crew. Upon reaching the border with Sudan, where Rameses the Great constructed an extravagant temple in his honor, she joins the throngs of people to experience the awe-inspiring sight of the sunrise.
