The Rifleman (1958)
S1E16 The Sheridan Story
Frank Blandon, a one-armed drifter, arrives at the ranch, where Lucas offers him a job to help him and Mark feel better about their decisions. Soon after, General Sheridan and his patrol pass through, and Lucas invites them to stay the night. In a surprising turn, Blandon draws his weapon on Sheridan, revealing himself as a former Confederate soldier who once had the General in his sights during the war. However, Sheridan acts swiftly, shooting Blandon in the shoulder. Rather than seek revenge, Blandon is inspired by Sheridan’s praise of the Southern fighters. The General then orders Blandon to be taken to a hospital to heal, fulfilling his duty to “bind up the Nation’s wounds.”
