While traveling west, Aaron Pelser's wagon train stumbled upon two young boys on a buckboard and invited them to join the group. To Pelser's surprise, he learned that one of the boys was actually a girl, and they claimed they were en route to Yuma to get married. Under pressure from the wagon train, they were forced to tie the knot in North Fork. The train members excitedly planned a shivaree, but complications arose because the couple didn’t consider the ceremony valid, wanting to wait for the groom's father in Yuma. Additionally, Chet Packard kept escalating the festivities inappropriately, straying from the intended good-natured celebration.
