During Christmas at the Tudor court, the atmosphere buzzes with change as Mistress Anne Boleyn takes the place of the exiled Queen Katherine. Meanwhile, Thomas Cranmer, the King's chaplain, embarks on a fact-finding mission to Lutheran Germany, while Henry severs the Catholic Church's power and tax privileges in England. A trip to France ultimately persuades Anne to take her relationship with Henry to the next level, despite his close friend Charles Brandon hinting that she is not as innocent as she appears.
