After being released from prison, Ruth goes back to her childhood home, where she reconnects with her sister and forms a bond with the new homeowners, John and Izzie. John takes it upon himself to assist Ruth in locating her sister. Meanwhile, Michael and Rachel face a crisis when their daughter is injured in a car accident.
