Episode Overview

Becky, a struggling teaching assistant, confronts headmistress Miss Pinkerton with an ultimatum: either provide her with a fair salary for her role at the Academy for Young Ladies or assist her in finding a new position. However, Miss Pinkerton stands firm, challenging Becky's threat. Left with no choice, Becky begins to gather her few belongings. Fortunately, compassionate Amelia Sedley, the daughter of a kind stockbroker, shows sympathy for the orphaned Becky and invites her to stay at her home for the week.
