Charles Dance is renowned for portraying aristocratic characters, such as Tywin Lannister in HBO's Game of Thrones. However, his real-life background contrasts sharply with the privileged roles he often plays; his mother worked as an under-house parlour maid. Curious about his ancestry, Charles seeks to discover whether he comes from a lineage of servants or if there are more illustrious roots to uncover. He is also eager to learn about his father, who passed away when Charles was just four, leaving him with little knowledge about his dad’s life, including his birth date. This quest leads him on a journey across the globe to connect with previously unknown relatives.
