Tony Micelli, a devoted single father, and his savvy young daughter Samantha make the bold choice to escape their tough urban environment in search of a brighter future in Connecticut. By chance, Tony learns of a position as a live-in housekeeper for affluent businesswoman Angela Bower, thanks to her charming mother, Mona. Setting aside his pride, Tony accepts the role in hopes of providing a better life for Samantha, leading to the creation of an unexpected "family" dynamic.
