After Sofia resigns from her position, Gabi pressures Josh to think about bringing her on as an intern. However, Gabi struggles to inform Sofia that she didn't land the job, leading her to keep Josh distracted from Sofia while she pretends to be busy. Meanwhile, Alan insists on meeting Elliot's critical mother, prompting Elliot to invite her over. Unfortunately, she misinterprets the situation and assumes that Elliot is engaged to Josh.
