Gabi and Sofia find themselves away from their families this holiday season, so they choose to lend a hand at a local homeless shelter on Christmas Eve. Meanwhile, Yolanda is feeling the absence of her children and decides to skip the festivities, until Gabi encourages her to reconnect with her estranged sister, Jolanda. When the sisters meet at Josh’s loft, old tensions resurface, turning their reunion into a disaster. As Gabi uncovers a significant secret that Jolanda is keeping from Yolanda, will the sisters be able to reconcile, or is more conflict ahead? In another corner, Josh tries to lift Elliot's spirits, who is feeling down about missing Alan, while Sofia grapples with her morals after a department store clerk accidentally gives her an undeserved discount.
