Josh is eager to connect with his father, Matt, but they struggle to find shared interests. When Matt plans another trip out of town, Gabi steps in to bring him to Josh's softball game, hoping to create a bonding experience. However, Josh is substituting on Elliot's team in a gay softball league, leading Matt to misinterpret the situation regarding his son. As Matt makes an effort to show his support, Josh hesitates to clarify the truth, wanting to cherish this new connection with his dad. Meanwhile, Yolanda enlists Sofia to help sell Squirrel Ranger cookies in hopes of winning a cruise.
