Hakone Academy's star, Ashikiba Takuto, triumphs in the intense three-way battle on the first day of the Inter-high, while Naruko and Midousuji barely clinch a tie for second place. With all the number tags from day one secured, Hakone Academy reestablishes its dominance. Although Naruko puts on a brave face during the awards ceremony, he is internally seething with disappointment. Sohoku finishes second in every category, and when Kaburagi collapses from fatigue, a heavy tension envelops the team. Just as Sakamichi starts to feel anxious, former Sohoku captain Kinjou makes an unexpected appearance.
