In a strategic move, the struggling Midousuji sends Mizuta to vie for the King of the Mountains title, hoping to provoke a reaction from Ashikiba, who represents the pride of Hakone Academy. Ashikiba secures the title but at a significant cost to his stamina. Seizing the moment, Midousuji picks up speed. Meanwhile, Imaizumi races towards the finish, carrying the hopes of Sakamichi and the entire team. Yuto is perplexed by Ashikiba's tactics, as he expected the ace to focus on the finish. Yet, Ashikiba reassures him that he hasn’t lost sight of the goal. Yuto reflects on his early days with the cycling team and the challenges he faced with upperclassmen who viewed him solely as Hayato’s younger brother.
