Plot

Two families devise a bold scheme to flee the GDR using a makeshift hot air balloon. However, their daring escape hits a snag when the balloon crashes just shy of the border. As the Stasi uncovers evidence of their failed attempt, they launch a relentless investigation. With the threat of capture looming ever closer, the families must quickly construct a new balloon.
