Plot
Jack McGurn, a fugitive, escapes to Los Angeles, where he finds work as a projectionist in a cinema owned by a Japanese-American. He quickly becomes enamored with the owner’s daughter, Lily. Their love faces opposition, prompting them to elope to Seattle. After marrying, they welcome a daughter into their lives. However, as World War II erupts, their happiness is shattered when Jack is unable to prevent the internment of his family, forcing them into a heartbreaking struggle for survival amid rising tensions and prejudice.
