Curral unfolds in the rural Brazilian city of Gravatá during a tense mayoral election, where the Blue and Red parties vie for control. The severe drought has made water a critical issue, influencing voter loyalty. Chico Caixa, a former city worker dismissed for attempting to deliver water to a neglected neighborhood, receives a call from childhood friend Joel, who is running for councilor as a fresh alternative to entrenched incumbents. However, as the campaign heats up, Chico discovers that escaping the grip of the political elite is far more complicated than he anticipated.
