Plot

In July 1782, amidst the backdrop of France, the enchanting Marchioness Caroline celebrates her birthday and encounters the charming soldier Gaston. Their connection is instantaneous, but Gaston hesitates to commit, focusing on his military ambitions. Caroline eventually weds a politician, but the onset of the French Revolution forces her to flee to avoid the guillotine.
