Plot

In 1915, Helene Schjerfbeck toils away as an overlooked artist in the countryside, living with her aging mother. Years have passed since her last exhibition, yet her love for painting remains undiminished. Her world shifts dramatically when an art dealer discovers her remarkable collection of 159 paintings and plans a grand private showcase. However, Helene's true transformation begins with the arrival of Einar Reuter, a young forester who shares her passion for art. As he becomes both her confidant and romantic partner, Helene finds renewed inspiration and a deeper connection to her work.
