Following Germany's surrender in May 1945, a group of young German POWs is transferred to Danish control and sent to the West Coast. Their grim task is to clear over two million mines left by German forces buried in the sand. Under the watchful eye of a stern Danish sergeant, these boys must navigate this perilous job using only their hands. As they toil in the treacherous terrain, the realities of war, survival, and humanity unfold, challenging their perceptions of duty and compassion amidst the remnants of conflict.
