Plot
Jessica Medlicott, a once-famous actress and socialite, finds herself in legal trouble after breaking off her engagement with a younger man, who is now suing her. Her defense falls to Sir Arthur Glanville-Jones, an esteemed barrister with a complicated history; he was once an ardent admirer of Jessica.
