Plot

Troubled young Jesse from Los Angeles and his friend Will get sidetracked in a small Nebraska town when their car is stolen en route to Chicago, where Jesse hopes to connect with his estranged father. They find temporary refuge with Hank, a tough handyman, and his compassionate wife Sharon, who offers them shelter. As they work for Hank in exchange for a car, the trio, along with local girl Dora—who struggles with her own complicated relationships—help Jesse confront his past and uncover valuable insights about love and self-discovery.
