Plot

In a remote village in Yunnan, Xiwen faces unimaginable grief after her young son Shitou succumbs to poisoning from tainted food. Meanwhile, Matteo, an employee of a Hong Kong-based multinational, flees Italy after a close call with the law, clutching a shipment of counterfeit food that fuels his rise within the company. As Matteo revels in his newfound success, fate intervenes when he encounters Xiwen, who has opened a restaurant in her son’s honor, advocating for genuine food. Their unexpected meeting sets off a chain of events that profoundly alters both their lives.
