Plot
In 1947, a newly appointed teacher steps into a secluded village school, bringing with him the weight of his past as a celebrated journalist and poet. Downgraded for his controversial writings and anti-Soviet sentiments, he faces skepticism from the wary locals who question his allegiance. Meanwhile, the village children eagerly recite his forced praises of Uncle Lenin from the poem 'To My Soviet Motherland.' As tensions rise, a long-lost friend unveils a hidden winter path leading to the underground hideout of the Dainava resistance, offering a glimmer of hope and defiance against the oppressive regime.
