Set in Melbourne during 1996, as Australia’s swimming scene flourishes, 16-year-old Danny Kelly seizes a scholarship to a prestigious boys’ school, propelling him towards his dream of Olympic glory. Initially out of his depth among the elite, he gradually navigates the school's social landscape. With the guidance of esteemed coach Frank Torma and a complex friendship with rival Martin Taylor, Danny rapidly rises through the ranks, aiming to become Australia’s youngest swimming champion, earning the nickname 'Barracuda' as he dives into fierce competition and personal challenges.
