Lady Maud's attempts to initiate divorce proceedings spark a cunning scheme in Sir Giles' mind: constructing a bypass through Cleene Gorge, which would not only destroy Lady Maud's ancestral estate but also yield a hefty government payout. Amidst the chaos, the hapless Dundridge, a ministry official clad in Y-fronts, adds to the hilarity.
