Kiyo in Kyoto: From the Maiko House (2021)
Kiyo and Sumire journey from Aomori Prefecture to Kyoto, aspiring to become maiko. However, fate leads Kiyo to take on the role of live-in cook at the Maiko House. Set in the vibrant Kagai district, known for its Geiko and maiko culture, their lives intertwine with those of their fellow maikos. Kiyo delights them with her home-cooked meals, providing warmth and support, while Sumire works passionately to achieve her dream of becoming a once-in-a-century maiko. Their adventures explore friendship, ambition, and the rich traditions of Kyoto's geisha community.
