
Supernova (2005)
Supernova, a British comedy produced by Hartswood Films, premiered in October 2005 on the BBC and UKTV. The show follows Dr. Paul Hamilton, a Welsh astronomer who abandons his mundane academic life and an unfulfilling relationship to start anew at the Royal Australian Observatory in the remote outback. He faces hilarious challenges adapting to his new environment and interacting with his quirky colleagues. The first series includes six 30-minute episodes, while the second season launched on August 3, 2006. Filming took place in Broken Hill, New South Wales, with the observatory depicted through CGI.
