Kyle and Budgie, two adventurous friends in their twenties from London, embark on an epic journey to the Cook Islands. Before their departure, Kyle commemorates their trip with a Maori tattoo. While snorkeling, he discovers the submerged body of a local girl named Aumea, but when he returns with the police, the corpse vanishes. Convinced of his experience, Kyle and Budgie delve into a labyrinth of Maori legends, symbols, and surreal visions.
