The League of Gentlemen (1999)
Set in the peculiar town of Royston Vasey, The League of Gentlemen debuted on BBC Two in 1999, bringing a unique blend of dark humor to British television. The show revolves around an array of eccentric residents, most portrayed by writers Mark Gatiss, Steve Pemberton, and Reece Shearsmith, along with Jeremy Dyson, who collectively formed the comedy troupe in 1995. After running for three seasons until 2002, the series expanded into a feature film in 2005 and celebrated its 20th anniversary with a three-part revival mini-series in December 2017.
